Welcome to the LOTRO Wardrobe outfitter’s blog! My main toon is Caylean, a Warden on the Landroval server with my husband Remigius (the naughty minstrel!) I have been playing LOTRO off and on since beta, but it wasn’t until early 2012 that my Remi and I decided to make LOTRO our regular MMORPG home. Outfits have always fascinated me, and I remember back during SoA running around Bree inspecting everyone I could to see what they were wearing. I had considered posting various screenshots of other people outfits, because people are VERY creative, but I didn’t have the time to do anything organized on the web… that is, until now!
Several resources provided me with inspiration and encouragement to get started. Firstly, I am simply enthralled with the Cosmetic LOTRO site. My goodness Hymne, are you a professional fashion designer? Another huge source of inspiration was the podcast on LOTRO cosmetics by Casual Stroll to Mordor. In fact, if I recall, Hymne might have been interviewed on that show…? (I’m relatively bad with names >.>) Finally, In the search for various articles of clothing, I find Darzil’s LOTRO Armour Guide an indispensable resource. How does he get all those outfits? Maybe he tries them on in the dressing room and takes a screenie…?
With this blog, I hope to share some of my favorite outfits while providing short stories as to why these characters are wearing them. At first, I tried to keep the captions and number of shots to a minimum, but the avid storyteller in me has awaken, and now there are running storylines between some of the characters. The blog is in sore need of organization into a timeline, and I will work on this (eventually!) Also, I will (eventually, *sigh*) write a little compendium on the major players and their relationships with each other. This will be in a separate tab so viewers can have the option of reading the “cliff notes”, if they so choose.
What I will NOT do with this blog is provide a comprehensive list of armour resources, nor write any general tutorials on outfitting. There are already many wonderful resources out there, written by people far more knowledgeable than me. That said, I will (eventually) post links to these wonderful resources.
So, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy perusing the Lotro Wardrobe!
